OUR ACCOMMODATION RECOMMENDATION

We’ve decided to get married in Cornwall because it is where we first met and lived for the first few years of our relationship. We absolutely love it and hope you will forgive us the travel time as it’s absolutely worth it!

The venue is in Flushing which is a part of Falmouth, Cornwall. There are a couple of rental homes in Flushing itself but not many. There are plenty of places nearby with hotels, rentals, campsites and B&Bs.

On the map below you can see the venue and surrounding areas, and we’ve made a list of some places we’d recommend.

  • Falmouth town itself is a really nice place to stay, it has multiple beaches, restaurants, pubs, bars, cafes and shops. If you’d rather stay somewhere where there is plenty to do this is the place! If you’re in Falmouth you’re looking at a 10 minute drive to the venue, check out the travel page for some more info on this.

  • Penryn is a beautiful old Cornish town just 5 minutes drive to the venue. It is smaller than Falmouth but also has a fish and chip shop (mariners is quality), many pubs, cafes and shops. There isn’t a beach but there is a harbour!

  • Truro is Cornwall’s county town and the only city in Cornwall. It has a beautiful cathedral, shops, cafes, bars, supermarkets. The area it covers is pretty large so I’d recommend checking how long it says the drive to the venue is before you book.

  • Restronguet, Mylor, Mylor Bridge are very nice, very Cornish places in the surrounding areas of Flushing. If you’re staying here it’s going to be a bit more rural and you may have to drive to visit restaurants and pubs but you’ll definitely have some great walks and close-by sea views!

HELPFUL LINKS

Booking.com great for finding hidden gems and independent guest houses. Lots of things you won’t find on airbnb (but it’s still an option).

Vrbo similar vibe to the above but might have some different options.

Hotel wise there are some really great places -

  • The Falmouth Hotel mega sea views on the Falmouth beach front.

  • Anacapri Ted’s mum and dad stayed here and said it was very nice, also very close to the beach in Falmouth, but usually a bit less pricey.

  • St Michaels Hotel & Spa on the expensive side, but it has a nice spa and restaurant and it’s right on the beach.

  • Budock Vean a big old classic hotel in the countryside around Falmouth, a good 20 minute drive to the venue, but it’s got some lovely places to visit nearby.

  • Merchants Manor Spa I don’t know anyone who has stayed here before but it looks nice, reviews are good, it’s well situated for both Falmouth town and the beach and there are a couple of dog statues outside.
