THE VENUE

We are holding our wedding celebrations at The Food Barn - Tregew. It’s a working farm the majority of the week but it is used as a food market on Saturday mornings, this is how we found it. It isn’t a typical wedding venue, and with such we wanted to give a couple of tips to help make the day even better!

TRAVEL

The barn is in Flushing which is a part of Falmouth across the estuary from the main town. It has beautiful views across the sea back to Falmouth town and Penryn. As it’s not in the main town it is quite remote and so requires a bit of forethought in terms of travel. We think the ideal scenario is if you are able to drive or jump in with someone else to the venue. There is plenty of free parking at the barn and we are able to leave cars overnight if you wish. On the travel page I’ve given details of cab companies for getting back to your accommodation and cars can be picked up the following morning. We recommend booking your cab as there aren’t ubers in Cornwall, it must be the last place on earth without uber.

DRESS CODE

We are going to be dressed up! Full on dress and suit style, but we are also going to have warm coats/jackets and we’d really encourage everyone to do the same. The barn - though beautiful - only has three wooden sides, which is going to make it a bit chilly, especially as it gets later. We have got a super sonic heater off facebook marketplace and are having fire pits outside around the barn, but we more than suggest you bring something warm just in case you feel the cold. The barn is quite protected as it’s in a slight valley but you’re definitely going to want to go up and have a look at the sunset if it’s there! There is plenty of room at the Barn and we’ll make sure there is somewhere you can store coats and bags. The weather in Cornwall is really unpredictable and though early September is usually lovely there is always a chance of rain so please also bear that in mind.
